How NECO Did Injustice to Education and Teaching Profession

NECO has bitten more than she can chew and there should be consequences

Good day all it’s quite unfortunate in the lives of our Nation where we’re preaching tolerance,forgiveness,patience,harmony irrespective of different tribes and tongues especially during the recently conducted Nationwide protest tagged “End Bad Governance” in which some protesters lost their lives,quite unfortunate.

We’re still trying to heal up from the wounds,pains and memory of that,now NECO is insulting Teachers through part of sections captured in Igbo essay question,are they sensitive at all?

What an assault,effontery,alleniation of the teaching profession and we ought not to take it lightly.We are giving NECO stipulated days as itemized by the leadership of NUT at the federal level to tender unreserved apology to we Teachers in daily newspapers,electronic media,conventional media and on all their social media platforms.

Until they do the needful,in the spirit of camaderie(injury to one is injury to all) I want to imploy all colleagues,associates to dissociate from NECO activities especially Adhoc and aspiring adhoc staffs that assist in coordination and marking of their exams which is even around the corner.

Some of the excerpts of the derogatory messages are itemized below

Teaching is a noble profession but teachers are never noble

Teachers are all mathematicians,they are regarded so because they calculate and recalculate their budgets

Whoever God wants to punish;pushes him to be a School Master there he dreams for wealth that is far away

My question to NECO if they’re not proud of the profession what are they still doing as examination body conducting exams for our learners?

If someone gives you food and because of that he feels he can insult you on it, it’s better you throw his food on him and tell him to go to hell.God who provide for the ravens,birds of the air,beasts of the field,fishes in the water will surely prove himself and provide for us(Teachers)

Incase you don’t know this damaging context will go far in the lives of the learners,how many of them will want to take up teaching profession as a career in near future especially when the crops of we,professionals will be old and bowing out in service by then?

Am pained with this development and I think you as a practicing teacher should be likewise.

Once more I think NECO has bitten more than she can chew and there ought to be consequences to this development!
